on my list "to do!"
http://ohsohappytogether.blogspot.com/2009/07/roses-and-ruffles-t-shirt-to-toddler.html
I have been saving up some blouses that I either don't want anymore, or think would be better as one of these cute girly dresses! I am really excited to delve into making my children's clothes before I have kids.
Speaking of preparing for Children before we have them, and no I'm not pregnant, Michael and I went to a Positive Disciplining Class this morning from 9-12. It was taught by a woman who I babysit for on Tuesdays, She's a child psychiatrist in a few different schools in the South valley. She found me on Care.com and just needed someone to watch her two girls one day a week. I applied and took the job, my first day is this Tuesday, but she said if I was going to work for her, I needed to take the class that she teaches, so Michael and I went. It was very excellent for us to start talking about Kids before we have to be put in situations in which we don't handle correctly. We discussed the class on our way home, and found that most of the class was positive, a few things we would do differently but no child theory works completely for everyone. We also don't know what our children will be like, so we will know better how to raise them, once we know what kind of people they are. but to discuss how we will parent before we become parents. It's like premarital counseling, so VERY necessary. So I will defiantly post photos if I get around to making the girls dresses. Hope you are have a LOVELY weekend! Relax and enjoy time off!!!

10th photo!
I'm fully stealing the idea of opening up the tenth photo of the first photo folder in your my photos file, and telling the story! Here it goes, and I tag ALL of you! I want to hear your stories!!
My sister Karie, pictured in the black dress, thought it would be a good idea to spend my birthday at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire! And that we did! My birthday was last sunday, the 11th, and on the Saturday before hand we traveled to Hollister area to the Casa De Fruita! We dressed up, bought delicious food, watched amazingly cool jousters, and just enjoyed playing dress up! :) There was SO MUCH to see, that I'll post more photos! Tonight we're having our friends over for my birthday dinner, it's Friday, and this is the day that worked for most people's schedules. So we invited our close friends, and my lovely hub put chili in the crock pot early this morning! We're going to enjoy chili, corn bread,BBQ, my famous south western dip, good fellowship, and games. I cannot wait.

Just around the corner...
Isn't it amazing how the Lord made our senses? Driving up to the mountains from Fresno, about 10 miles outside the Yosemite Valley line, I roll the windows down and smell an old firmiliar scent, and the only way I can describe it, is it smells like cooked artichokes, one of my favorite veggies. But at that moment, all these feelings and emtions sweep over me, and I am filled with a sense of relaxation and rememberance. Memories of the years my family and I have traveled the 4 1/2 journey to the place I like to call my favorite, Yosemite. It brings back memories of the many hikes we taken, the many stary nights we've sat at the lodge laughing gathered around the fire, playing games and drinking hot cocoa. The many mornings, waking up, drinking coffee and gazing up at Half Dome, Bewildered by it's glory.
I love that I can smell coffee in the morning and be instantly reminded of the many mornings throughout my life, that I've woken up hours after my early rising mom, and smell her coffee, every morning, without exception.
I love that I can smell my Dad's cologne, and be reminded of the comfort He brings me with a hug, a shoulder I've cried on countless times...
Today I bought my first, of many I'm sure, Wood Wick candle, it's Spiced Plum, and the moment I lit it at home, I was filled with the Childish excitment of running through leaves, carving pumpkins, taking a walk on crisp cool nights after Thanksgiving, smelling home made pumpkin pie in harvest time, hearing the rain fall through an open window while I'm currled up watching a movie or reading a novel, sipping hot cocoa on cold winters night at Lost Lake with our friends around a bonfire. It reminded me of so many good things, and those so many good things, are just around the corner. Thank you Lord for seasons and scent, and the many great memories that come from both. You truely are the giver of all good things.
