greatest lesson of all.

In our small group on Thursday Nights, we're studying Rick Warrens, 40 days of community, it's a GREAT subject to delve into as a church, and I'm going at it whole heartily. It's main focus is for us as Biblical Christians, to Love. Love God, Love our church community, and Love the community in and around our town. The whole Study is based off of 1 Corinthians 13:1-3

"1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing. "

So the study pretty much goes over the fact that if we don't have love in all we do, our faith doesn't matter, nothing we accomplish matters, what we say doesn't matter, what we believe doesn't matter and what we do doesn't matter....
WOAH, huge... my faith? my beliefes? nothing matters without Love?!?

NOTHING.

So, I wrote on my bathroom mirror. Do EVERYTHING in Love. and I have a lovely saying on my computer: Live in Love.

So folks. if you do nothing else in this life but Love God and Love Others, your life will MATTER. No one out there with millions of dollars, with huge plaques and metals, and things, and knowledge, no one with skills and faith that moves mountains, matters, if they don't have love.

That is big.
Remember it, if nothing else in my blog you remember, remember that.
Go out and LOVE someone today, it's the thing missing from most people's lives.

Matthew 5:38-42

38"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.'[a] 39But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you."

NIV- from Biblegateway.com

The Lord spoke to me about my boss this morning in this chapter. My job is a challenge, as I'm sure everyone else's is... and this chapter really important when thinking about you job and what you're " entitled" to... i hate that word, becuase it really puts us above making ourselves avaliable to the Lord and His Will... we think we have " rights" as Americans and sure, we do, as far as our country and our lives are, but to the Lord, our right is worshipping Him and living out His Will. That's that, and until we figure that out, and Love without expeciting things back, life will always be hard.

What a morning! and it's only 8:19am!

This had been a VERY tough morning already...
and the thing that popped into my head that I thought I'd share to encourage all of you is this...
Philippians 2:14-15 " Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you may become blamless children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe."

Never thought I'd say this... but

I really missed Fresno while I was gone on my road trip! Some of you might have thought this would happen, and it did.
About day three of our time in Montana, I was feeling this need, a craving of sorts, for people, & not just any people! I had seen my fair share of people while I was in Montana, but that didn't suffice. I needed my friends from Fresno, my church.
Those who I've spent hours and hours with, laughing, bonding, crying with, being held accountable to, growing with, praising and growing in the Lord with, sharing my burdens and pains with, those who have been there for me since before I even moved to Fresno, those who helped me get through my wedding stress, and who rejoiced with me on that special day, those who have seen me go through job after job, and who have encouraged me through all of that, those are who God has placed in our lives for a HUGE reason.

I needed those people on that day in Montana, not for any specific reason, but becuase those people are my family, my life here. And it's then that my heart began to soften for Fresno, for that HUGE desire in me to get out of this cramped, loud, sometimes unbareable city. I prayed earlier that week, that the Lord would work on Michael's heart if we were supposed to move to Montana, and if that wasn't what He wanted, that He'd work on mine... well, the work began, and it wasn't so much on Michael's heart as it was on mine..
As we pulled into the firmiliar areas of Fresno, my heart swelled. I don't want to move from this place I call home.
If home is where your heart is, then mine is here for now, becuase of my church and the people I love.
